Snatch up one-of-a-kind gourmet experiences from 50 Best’s ‘Bid for Recovery’ Auction
Instead of publishing The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list this year, 50 Best aims to focus its resources on supporting the hospitality industry through its 50 Best for Recovery programme.
As a key fund-raising element of this programme, 50 Best introduces the ‘Bid for Recovery’ Auction that takes place between 5 to 12 July this year. Up for bidding are offers from more than 100 restaurants and chefs featured in recent World’s 50 Best Restaurants lists as well as its partner brands including S.Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.
All proceeds of the 50 Best Recovery Fund will be distributed as direct grants given to independent restaurants and bars, donations to non-profit organisations and the provision of one million meals to the needy, in partnership with the Social Gastronomy Movement, a global network of charitable organisations across 38 countries.

One of the highlights of the auction is an intimate behind-the-scenes experience at Mirazur, the establishment freshly awarded three Michelin-starrred in 2019 and first in the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants 2019.
Two guests get to spend a day with Mauro Colagreco, the genius behind Mirazur, in Menton, France. The itinerary includes strolling through Mirazur’s famed gardens to select produce, meeting with the fishermen and lunching with the chef himself at his organic pizzeria, Pecora Negra.
They’ll also get to dine at Mirazur’s ‘creation kitchen’, meet the talented team behind the restaurant’s exquisite dishes and enjoy the full newly-developed tasting menu before going home with a fine set of wine glasses and case of wine.
In addition to the auction, 50 Best will also be launching an e-cookbook, Home Comforts, featuring simple recipes from the world’s best chefs and bartenders. Funds raised from sales of the e-cookbook will go directly into the 50 Best Recovery Fund and used to support the global restaurant and bar industry. It will be available for download on 1 July 2020 with a minimum donation of $10.
The auction will be held online at 50bestforrecovery.com from 3 July to 12 July 2020. Bidders can view the full selection of lots from 29 June 2020.
