Autumn arrives at chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s diner at the Como Dempsey enclave.

Featuring a refreshed Weekday Lunch Menu, the all-day dining The Dempsey Cookhouse & Bar changes every two weeks to keep boredom at bay. The set lunch menu comes in either a two-course (S$38++) or three-course (S$42++).

Whet your appetite with piquant starters with the likes of a Hamachi Salad with a soy chilli dressing or a classic Crispy Calamari with yuzu and sesame dipping sauce. For mains, you can’t go wrong getting one of Vongerichten’s famed pizzas that is baked in an apple and cherry wood-fired oven upon order. Also handmade daily is the tagliatelle mixed in a light pesto of pistachios, basil, garlic, lemon peel, olive oil, parmesan cheese and green thai chilli for a little kick.

What you’ll most likely return for, however, would be the desserts. A Salted Caramel Ice Cream Sundae comes as two generous scoops atop walnuts in a pool of hot fudge. It’s either that or the Strawberry Sundae, made up of strawberries done in five different ways: ice cream, sorbet, jam, dehydrated chips and fresh as they are. Bits of kaffir lime meringue and sugar-coated brioche help add a little variance to the dish. Although different in flavour profiles, both aren’t cloying so you won’t feel too guilty after.
