The occasion: In its second edition this year, gourmet food and wine festival Savour returned to Bayfront Avenue from 9 to 11 September with an emphasis on wines this time.

Savour Wines 2016 featured an all-new wine market and expanded gourmet village. Highlights of the festival included a cheese room, an oyster bar, wine masterclasses, over 400 specially-curated wines from all over the world, as well as dishes from up-and-coming local restaurants as part of Savour’s ‘DBS Live Your Dream’ initiative, which seeks to support local culinary talents.

The bites: The festival featured over 19 varieties of live oysters and 200 types of cheese from all over the world. Restaurants such as Angela May Food Chapters, Mitzo and Bird Bird also served up fresh dishes from their booths.

The sips: Labels from South America, California, Australia, Spain, Argentina were among the wines available at the festival’s wine market. In particular, wines from Greywacke and Misha’s Vineyard, stood out from the rest. Other sips include cocktails by Martell at L’Espace Martell, and sparkling libations by Badoit’s Bubble Bar.
