Homegrown brand Ooh’s addictive mala chips will have you reaching for more.
Founder Gervor Quek was inspired to showcase Sichuan flavours in the humble potato chip when he tasted a restaurant dish of thinly-sliced potato stir-fried in spices akin to La Zi Ji or Sichuan chilli chicken. Tests and tastings later, he launched two mala chips, the Ooh Ma Ma mala potato chips and the Ooh La La mala cassava chips. Made with ingredients such as peppercorns, dried chilli, fennel and ginger, these snacks certainly pack a spicy umami hit.
