Bodega Wine Pairing
Wine aficionados utterly enjoyed the Alto Landon wine pairing event organised by Bodega Y Tapas which took place on 3 Aug at 7.30pm. At $50++ per head, the turnout was good. The wine expert was Rosalia from Alto Landon who shed light on some of the complexities of their reputable wines. The night was casual with a small group of individuals mingling and sharing their gastronomic experiences. A small semi-buffet line was set around the bar area, so guests helped themselves to a good range of cheeses, cold cuts, olives and delicious paella. There were other food items served butler style, too. The premise of this regular casual wine pairing by Bodega Y Tapas was to introduce to diners the different types of wines offered by the establishment. Guests were able to mix and match the four different types of wines that were served and paired it with Chef Roberto’s sumptuous tapas.
The stellar wines served included the:
- Rayuelo 2007, a unique blend of bobal, malbec and monastrell. It is an award winning varietal mentioned on GUIA Penin, 91 pts.
- L’Ame Malbec 2001. It is the only single varietal Malec wine from Spain, from second-highest altitude winery and wineyards in Spain. Award winning and mentioned on GUIA Penin, 90 pts.
- Alto Landon 2005. Award winning and mentioned on GUIA Penin, 91 pts and Robert Parker 90pts.
There was also special wine brought in from the winery in Spain such as the Alto Landon Chardonnay white wine. As the event ended, guests were eagerly asking about the next wine pairing event! For future wine pairing events, you can call Bodega Y Tapas 6735 3476 or email tapas@esmirada.com
