Lombardo’s Singapore is opening in a big way, with the ‘The Most Expensive Burger in Singapore’ promotion from 11-21 October 2019.
A new burger joint from the Netherlands arrives in Singapore, and it comes with stars of another kind—”…more than 2000 positive five-star reviews on TripAdvisor…” since it opened in 2010, says its press release.
To mark its launch, it’s running a ‘The Most Expensive Burger in Singapore’ promotion from 11-21 October, for which profits will be donated to the Children’s Charities Association of Singapore. Priced at $250, the hulk of a burger comprises a 24-karat gold leaf covered bun and premium ingredients such as Japanese wagyu, pan-seared foie gras, butter-poached lobster, banana shallots braised with champagne, Italian truffles and caviar.
Says chef Martijn Verdonk, founder of Lombardo’s and creator of the decadent burger, “We are grateful of the opportunity to be here in Singapore, and we want to start our relationship with the people in Singapore right by first giving back to them.”
A selection of classic and new burgers will be available on Lombardo’s regular menu, such as the Singapore Fling ($35), a Singapore exclusive with wagyu beef, crab meat and melted cheddar; the Dutch Cheese Burger ($22.50) of Black Angus beef, melted English cheddar, a sweet red wine onion compote, and locally pickled mini pickles; and Moo’s & Blues ($28), featuring Black Angus beef, melted Stilton blue cheese, avocado, homemade garlic mayonnaise. All three are slathered with Lombardo’s homemade burger sauce.
