For two nights only on 23 and 24 October, chef Jason Tan of Corner House will be teaming up with chef Kristian Baumann of Copenhagen’s 108 restaurant for a gastronomic journey.
Collabs may be all the rage these days, but they are still guaranteed to get us all excited. This week’s hottest table is probably the four-hands collab between chef Jason Tan of Corner House, which has won three stars from Singapore’s Top Restaurants for two years running, and chef Kristian Baumann of 108, which was touted as the new, more casual iteration of Noma, when it first opened in 2016 in Copenhagen.
Chef Baumann was formerly an apprentice of Rene Redzepi and had also cut his teeth at Relae, so he is well-versed in fine nuances of New Nordic Cuisine. Chef Tan, meanwhile, has staked his spot on the local F&B scene as one of its brightest homegrown stars with his elegant degustation-only contemporary menus at Corner House in Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Together, one can only expect a feast of epic proportions from the two chefs. For two nights only, Corner House will be serving an eight-course degustation menu ($328 per person) showcasing their signatures including chef Tan’s Oignon Doux Des Cevennes, where the humble onion take centrestage in four iterations.
