From 27 to 30 September, The Great Food Festival returns for its second edition at Resorts World Sentosa featuring a fresh line-up of celebrity chefs, bakers, dessert chefs and world-renowned Master of Wine personalities.

Following its debut last year boasting an impressive variety of culinary experiences, The Great Food Festival (TGFF) continues to build on its popularity this year with four exciting festival zones—Star Chef Arena, Rollin’ Sweet Times, The Cellar, and Feast of Kings (sold out). Guests can look forward to baking and wine pairing masterclasses, as well as more than 30 innovative dishes from Michelin-starred restaurants.

Progressive Dutch chef Richard van Oostenbrugge at The Great Food Festival

New to this year’s arena is chef Richard van Oostenbrugge, the mastermind behind the innovative two Michelin-starred Bord’Eau restaurant and currently the chef and co-owner of Restaurant 212 in Amsterdam. The progressive Dutch chef marks his first appearance at The Great Food Festival with guaranteed-to-wow dishes like foie gras seaweed broth umeboshi; and scallop with black truffle and fermented oxtail jus.

Refreshing pumpkin soup and matcha ice cream with Japanese spiny lobster

Japanese Michelin-starred chef, Masayasu Yonemura, debuts his new French-Japanese teppanyaki concept, along with his proprietary shabu shabu concept, at this year’s The Great Food Festival. Taste some of his ingenious creations like the decadent yet refreshing dish of pumpkin soup and matcha ice cream with Japanese spiny lobster.

Patissier maestro Philip Khoury’s date caramel tart at The Great Food Fair

Australian patissier Philip Khoury, who recently won Savour Patissier 2018, is bringing his award-winning tart to TGFF. Aspiring bakers can sign up for his hands-on masterclass focused on one of his most decadent and stunning creations—the gold chocolate flower tart.

In addition, Youtube sensation Matt Adlard also known as Topless Baker, will be holding masterclasses on lemon buttercream flower cake and Nutella fondant cake and macarons.

Gin aficinados look out for Tanqueray 10 grapefruit fizz

On top of all the sweet goodness, Tanqueray Citrus Terrace—a Tanqueray Gin garden of over 500 square feet—has been added as a new dimension to this decadent zone. Featuring the iconic Tanqueray London Dry Gin, Tanqueray No.10, and Tanqueray Rangpur, this thematic gin bar with its fantastic selection of gin and tonic flights is not to be missed by any true gin aficionado.

The young and the young-at-heart will not be disappointed with the fun, interactive, and insta-worthy activities at Rollin’ Sweet Times with sections such as the HAPPIPLAYGROUND, a fun zone full of cute characters from Hong Kong; Nitrogen Lab, where dessert-lovers can transform customisable desserts and drinks into avant-garde nitrogen creations; or Australian N2 Gelato, where gelato-addicts can truly indulge.

The Cellar
Making its debut at The Great Food Festival this year is The Cellar, a new thematic zone specially designed for wine connoisseurs. Here, you can look forward to indulging in wines from well-loved wine regions in various countries including Spain, Chile, France, Italy, and Argentina. Unique wine pairings will be available as well, with the finest charcuterie and cheeses from around the world.

Master of Wine and RWS wine ambassador Jeannie Cho Lee, who was named 25th most powerful person in wine by Decanter magazine (UK) and listed among the top 60 most influential people in wine by La Revue du Vin (France) in 2015, will be sharing the art of wine appreciation in her masterclasses.
