Opened late last year, Level Up is an arcade bar in the Clarke Quay enclave—the first of its kind in Singapore. It combines the arcade from the nineties with food, drinks and even live music.
Whether you’re a baby from the eighties and nineties, fan of all things retro or simply looking for some fun, there is something for everyone at Level Up. Perched on the second story of a shophouse in Clarke Quay, Level Up offers unobstructed views of the Singapore River and a whopping 6,400 square foot space perfect for parties.
Level Up houses about four different types of arcade games including Time Crisis and Street Fighter alongside a variety of classic party games. Think pool, foosball, beer pong and even table hockey. All machine games are operated with Level Up’s custom tokens, which can be accumulated when ordering alcoholic drinks (from one token for a cocktail; five tokens for a beer bucket; eight tokens for a dozen shooters). Alternatively, tokens can be purchased individually ($2 for two tokens, $5 for six tokens and $10 for 15 tokens).
On the menu, Level Up offers a variety of Asian-inspired bar bites that are great for sharing. Expect bar staples like seaweed fries ($10) and crispy salted egg fish skin ($12). There’s also Level Up Wings ($12 for half dozen, $22 for dozen), which are marinated with lemongrass herbs then fried to a juicy crisp.
For something more substantial, consider the short ribs ($22) The beef short ribs are first soaked in an oyster sauce-based marinade then braised till tender. Or try the braised pork belly with Chinese five-spice served on white rice and topped with a sunny side up egg ($17).
Other highlights include homemade curry chicken with bread ($15) and Asian-style sliders in crispy fried kong bak buns ($15 for two) featuring yakiniku beef, spicy pulled pork or chargrilled chicken meatballs. Or get the slider combo ($40 for six) to try all three options. All sliders, except the slider combo, are served with fries.
Drinks-wise, Level Up offers beverages like soft drinks ($6) and flavoured sodas ($8). There are also draft beers from popular brands like Asahi Superdry (a pint at $8.80 during happy hour and $14 regular) and Kronenbourg Blanc (a pint at $12 during happy hour and $16 regular).
For those who prefer cocktails, Level Up offers a wide selection of tipples ($16 each) from the classic (Old Fashioned and Caiprinha) to house signatures like melon cucumber martini and Milo Dino, iced Milo topped with Milo powder and spiked with rum.
