Joyden Treasures, located in Leisure Park Kallang, celebrates its second anniversary with a delectable injection of 20 new dishes to an already extensive menu.
Seafood is their forte, so expect dishes like Teochew-style chilled yellow roe crab (market price), which is first poached in a broth with ginger and spring onions, then cooled to room temperature before being chilled. The succulent crab flesh and creamy yellow roe makes for a great appetizer. Or poached flower clams and mustard greens in superior broth ($20), a deliciously rich broth perfect for cooling and detoxifying the body in the Singapore heat.
Beyond that, Joyden Treasures also brings back some classic favourites with a twist. The steamed minced pork with mei cai ($18) is a crowd favourite—tender juicy pork patty made from a mix of pork loin and shoulder with diced water chestnuts for added crunch. Another timeless dish is crispy homemade yam ring with vegetables and pork ($20), which features generous slices of pork and a vegetable medley of baby corn, turnips, celery, carrots, shiitake and shiimeiji mushrooms and red and yellow peppers. A vegetarian version for this dish is also available upon request.
Elegantly decorated with traditional Chinese crockery and furniture, this spacious restaurant can accommodate up to 210 people in the main dining area and 10 more in each of their six private dining rooms—great for family get-togethers.
