Started in London six years ago and wildly popular in the UK, Burger & Lobster expands to this part of the world with its first Asian outpost at Resorts World Genting’s SkyAvenue mall.

In addition to brand signatures like The Original lobster and B&L burger (both from 138RM/S$45), you’ll also find the newly launched Chilli Lobster pot, their take on the region’s favourite chilli crab, on the menu at the Genting outlet. Sweetly aromatic with thick sauce and B&L’s signature brioche bread to go with it, it’s a must-try for chilli crab fans. You may even see it in other B&Ls soon, including the soon-to-be-launched Bangkok outpost.

Burger & Lobster’s new offering: the Chilli Lobster pot
Expect fresh premium lobster, each weighing between 650 to 700 grammes delivered hillside each week from Nova Scotia, Canada.

B&L’s signature dishes, including The Original lobster (centre), comprising a whole lobster steamed or grilled with clarified butter or their popular lemon and garlic butter sauce
Whether you choose to have it steamed or grilled, you can be sure that you’ll be feasting on only the freshest of lobsters under the glow of B&L’s warmly-lit neon sign.

Burger & Lobster is a popular UK franchise
And if that’s too hefty for your liking, more conservatively sized dishes are available. Comprising a crisp toasted brioche bun topped with various sauces, lobster rolls are a hot favourite as well. Try Seven Samurai with seven spices sauce, or The Chilli (both from RM95/S$31), with B&L’s signature chilli sauce. Interestingly, the latter is named after Singapore in other parts of the world.

This one’s for smaller eaters: B&L’s The Original lobster roll, which is one of three variations available
To wash it down, there are drinks and cocktails galore. House favourites include the Odalisque (from RM38/S$13), a concoction of Havana Club white rum aged three years, sauvignon blanc and jasmine tea; and 8 Steps to the West (RM38/S$13), which includes bourbon, elderflower, pear puree and ginger ale.

For something a little different, order up something from their kopitiam-inspired ‘soft shells’ section. These come in transparent plastic bags, tied with a bit of red string and held up by a simple hook, look like what you’d get when you ‘tapau’ beverages from a hawker centre. From this range, we especially liked the ginger soda (from RM21/S$7), a refreshing mix of ginger, lime, bitters and spritzer, to cut through the lush richness of the meal.
