They say every day is Mother’s Day if your heart is in the right place. But it’s nice to show her you care too, come Sunday 14 May. Here are some top spots to wine and dine your favourite lady in the house.
SPRMRKT Kitchen & Bar
Take mum for a quiet stroll along Robertson Quay by the Singapore River before settling down to a meal at SPRMRKT Kitchen & Bar at the Singapore Tyler Print Institute. The itinerary is flexible here; go for brunch with highlights like weekend roast and chicken pot pie, or sit down to leisurely dinner with dishes like Malbec oxtail pasta and smoked lobster tail with mac and cheese. Or, simply say cheers with a cocktail or two by the bar. Beverly’s Blooms’ popup bouquet bar will help you surprise Mum with bespoke or readymade hand bouquets (from $50).

Stellar @ 1-Altitude
Mummy dearest thinks twice about seafood outings, citing the expense? Then this is the time to give her a no-holds barred treat.
Stellar @ 1 Altitude promises a stunning view of Marina Bay while the whole family feasts on their Sunday brunch-Seafood Spectacular set menu. Seafood and shellfish like Boston lobster, Pacific oysters and tuna ceviche will be served on a platter at the table, while other dishes from live stations like charcuterie and foie gras complement the meal. Set brunch is priced at $95 per person; $45 for children between 6 to 12. Add $65 per person to get a free-flow gin cocktail of your choice or Veuve Clicquot champagne.

Botanico at the Garage
If mum is a nature lover, then we have got just the place. Introduce her to the new-ish Botanico at the Garage at the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Surrounded by lush greenery of a UNESCO World Heritage site, this 1920’s Art Deco garage venue serves up a four-course brunch menu featuring contemporary bistro eats.
Expect decadent dishes like smoked farm egg, a sous-vide egg smoked in an Inka grill oven topped with baked celeriac foam, Iberico ham and black trumpets; and glazed lamb shoulder with chargrilled eggplant, semi-dried tomatoes, cucumber and red mustard. Cocktails for the occasion you can pair them with include Chocolate N’Roses ($15), a blended cocktail of vodka, rose syrup, chocolate sauce and milk. Set brunch is priced at $80 per person while a four-course kids’ menu is available at $18.

Montreux Jazz Cafe
If jazz is mum’s music of choice, consider a snazzy Sunday brunch at Montreux Jazz Café. She’d be serenaded by jazzy tunes played by a live band as she tucks into her three-course brunch set featuring options like breakfast salad for starters; spanner crab spaghettini, steak frites, and grilled tofu steak for mains; and desserts such as sticky date pudding. She will also get to enjoy a free flow of bites from the raclette cheese and meat carving live stations.
The Jazz brunch starts from $98 per person for a non-alcoholic package, while a three-course children’s menu goes for $18. Flowers from Fabulation will also be available for purchase at $50.
