The occasion: On 23 August, Francophiles and foodies alike gathered at Olivia Cassivelaun Fancourt French (OCF) restaurant at the Arts House to commemorate the opening of La Semaine Franҫaise 2016.
Supported by The French Ministry of Agriculture, Sopexa and DiningCity, the festival—otherwise known as The French week —took place on 10 to 17 September. French restaurants around Singapore like OCF, La Brasserie and Lewin Terrace showcased the delights of classic French and fusion gastronomy at very affordable prices.
The bites: Representing the best of French culture, OCF served up a variety of canapés like le foie gras, comprising duck liver terrine and hazelnut wafers; le crabe, made with crab meat tartare and pickled radish; and ending the evening on a sweet note, an assortment of delicate macaroons.
The sips: Attendees were served Saint Louis Blanc de Blanc, Gérard Bertrand Réserve Spéciale Merlot2013 and Hauts de Goelane Aoc Bordeaux Blanc 2014
