The Chop House’s new outlet at 112 Katong is a laidback setup that matches the breezy vibe in this eastern part of Singapore. Meats are cooked to 980°C in a special Southbend broiler, to bring out their rich tastes and aromas. Each slice is charred on the outside, giving way to a juicy, tender centre. A satisfying highlight, the Pork Knuckle Platter ($85) is a generous serving of 1.4kg grain-fed Australian pork knuckle, smoked BBQ baby back ribs, assorted sausages and truffle potato salad. For a casual bite, try the Aussie Burger ($26), a half pounder beef burger topped with tomatoes, lettuce, onion jam, beetroot, egg, and bacon. The Mixed Grill Platter ($68), with its mix of tenderloin, lamb cutlet and assorted sausages, is a great option for a party of three.
