The surfer’s version of sashimi, poké comprises marinated bite-sized chunks of raw tuna and is commonly sold as snack food in supermarkets in Hawaii. The poké you’ll find when you design your own bowl at Aloha Poké, however, comes in salmon and tofu variants as well and can be spruced up with a selection of side ingredients such as crunchy flying fish roe, avocado, edamame and pumpkin seeds. Traditional poké comes with only one type of marinade but here you can choose between original, spicy and wasabi mayo. Takeaway bowls come in three sizes: $11.90 for Lil’ Swell, $15.90 for Standard Nalu and $19.90 for Big Kahuna.
