CATO celebrates the best of both worlds with nostalgic architecture and contemporary cuisine. Housed in a double-storey conservation building in Chinatown, the restaurant on the first floor serves mains and tapas while the intimate bar upstairs offers an eclectic selection of craft beers and artisanal spirits. The menu features modern Asian dishes such as Tom Yum Prawn Risotto and Lemongrass Crème Brûlée.We could not get enough of the Crispy Squid ($16), a moreish treat of deep-fried baby squid lightly covered in a Thai glaze, and the Beef Tartare (S$16) served with mantou chips. The Tom Yum Prawn Risotto ($24) packed a delightful heat, while the Spicy Tiger Prawns ($18) went exceptionally well with a bottle of Crew Republic’s Drunken Sailor Indian Pale Ale.
