It looks like restaurateur Beppe de Vito has plucked some of the fine dining vibe from his Il Lido days and combined it with the flavours of the comfort fare from &Sons Bacaro for Osteria Art, his latest venture. Tear some of the crusty bread, and mop up the velvety sauce from the Porcini Mushroom Flan with Truffle Leek Veloute ($22), or smear it with some hearty chunks of crabmeat in a rich egg custard from the Crab & Tarragon Frittata ($23). We adored the addictive Pappardelle with Pork Cheek and Red Wine ($26)—perfectly al dente and dressed in a silky sauce. Pair it with the house Querceto Chianti 2013 ($14/glass or $70/bottle), a Tuscan quaff that brings out the delicate gamey flavours of the succulent pork.
Decked in brass and suave leather, the bar is perfect for after-work tipples. Order from a cocktail menu named after classic Ferrari models; the Maranello ($16) is zippy and fresh with gin, Aperol, grapefruit, elderflower, and bitter lemon.
