Remaining as the true expression of Perrier-Jouët’s floral, stylish and diamond cut style, Belle Epoque is hallmarked by the finest Chardonnays in the Côte des Blancs, benefitting from two centuries of winemaking expertise in the art of vintage. The 2006 in particular, is set to be one of the most sought after vintages of the Belle Epoque cuvee in the last 20 years. Due to perfect growing conditions in 2006, grapes with the highest potential-alcohol seen in the last decade has been achieved. As a result, the Belle Epoque 2006 has a distinctive fourth facet: an extraordinary silkiness in the mouth that is unique to this vintage. The wine also has a perfect balance between richness and elegance; it is a silky and sensual Chardonnay dominant cuvée with a persistent finish, along with the potential for long ageing. With an assemblage of 50 percent Chardonnay from Cramant, Avize and Chouilly, 45 percent Pinot Noirs from Mailly, Verzy and Aÿ, and 5 percent Pinot Meunier from Dizy, expect minerality, fresh fruit and floral notes accompanied by an extra roundness from ripe fruit aromas. Aged for six years in the Perrier-Jouët cellars before disgorgement, the wine was given a light dosage of 9g/litre.
